DROP OFF APPOINTMENT SCHEDULING

We require drop off appointments because the day runs more smoothly when we have a steady stream of people all day. This helps us avoid rush periods where a lot of people come at the same time and the lines back up. You can help by making an appointment – it will make the entire process more pleasant for everyone.

If you miss your appointment, you can still come anytime before 6pm on Wednesday, just be aware that we will help those with appointments during their scheduled time first.  No unscheduled drop offs will be received after 6pm on Wednesday...if you show up without an appointment after this time BDFL will not accept your items.

Drop off Checklist:
Please complete BEFORE bringing your items to drop off.

• Have your clothing items sorted by gender and size.
• All hangers must face left (like a question mark).
• Boxing smaller items, like books, will help you quickly transport your items into the store for inspection.
• Double check all tags for accuracy - no hand written REDUCE tags will be accepted.
NEW! If using wire hangers - pants must be attached with large safety pins at the top of the hanger only (so they don't slide from side to side).
• NEW! If using wire hangers two piece sets (top & bottom) must have the bottoms pinned on the outside of the top (so they can be easily seen).
• NEW! All multiple piece outfits MUST have each piece attached together with safety pins (preferably through the manufacturer label) to prevent items from being separated.

• BDFL will scan multiple tags from each consignor at check in.  Tags that don't scan lead to long check out lines and we are making every effort possible to keep lines short.  If your tags do not scan BDFL will reprint all of your tags and you will be required to remove the non-scanning tag and re-tag all items before putting your items out on the sales floor.
• Allow at least 40 minutes to complete the drop off process (average 100-150 items).
• The more organized your items are when you arrive the quicker drop off will be for everyone.

If you are not available during any of the scheduled drop off times, ask a friend to drop your merchandise off for you. Ask a good friend to consign and arrange for her to drop your stuff off with hers. Maybe you could pick up for her at the end!

Please do not be upset or offended if some of your items are rejected. We will give you a reason when we return them to you. It is easy to overlook a small flaw when preparing a large number of items for the sale.

Consignors MUST make an appointment online.

Please refer to the map below for details on our drop off location.

What to do when you get to the Burlington Center Mall

1. ENTRANCE — Enter Here from Route 541 North or South.  (Turn at Traffic Light in front of Chuck E Cheese.)

2. WAIT HERE — Drive to this spot and wait for an opening at 3. Please try to regulate yourselves to 4 cars in the unloading zone. That's all we can check in at a time, so you won't be missing anything.   If there is an opening when you pull up, there's no wait!  With drop off appointments, we don't anticipate backups here.  There is only one way in and out of this loading zone so please only pull in if there is an open spot at the curb. Do not double park.

3. UNLOADING ZONE — Pull in here. Check in with our workers (we will be waiting at the curb).  Unload your goods. We have a limited number of rolling racks and carts to help you move your items.  Having smaller items, like toys and books, organized in boxes for transport into the retail space will help you complete the drop off process quickly.  After unloading park your car in the mall lot and walk back to the unloading zone.

4. PARKING — Please be considerate of the other Mall customers and employees who use this building. Park anywhere in the mall lot.

5. DROP OFF ENTRANCE — Walk back here and start moving your items into our retail space.   You will need to bring your items through the service corridor and in through the front entrance of our store.  We will have volunteers to show you the way.  It is not a long distance BUT you do have to go up a service corridor.  Please be prepared.

6. STORE LOCATION - There will be a consignor check in table located in the front of the BDFL store.  Please check in BEFORE actually placing your items on the sales floor.  Make sure you receive your presale passes and leave a box if you are picking up unsold items.

You will be responsible for hanging clothing on the appropriate rack according to size and gender and placing other non-clothing items in the appropriate place.  Please note that items will sell best when displayed with other like items and can be found easily by shoppers.  We try very hard to create a "shoppable" sale by specifying which items are in which sections.  If you are in a hurry and place your items in the wrong section, it will get lost among other things and WILL NOT SELL.  We do not have enough time to rearrange every item before the sale opens.  Please plan to take the time to put your items in the correct section.  If you cannot find the appropriate place, please ask us and we will help you find it or we will create a new section!

 7. SALE ENTRANCE — When you return for the presale or public sale, go to the main mall entrance. The drop off door and loading area will be closed during the sale. Workers should enter through the main mall entrance (even the first shift of the day) and come in through the Best Dressed for Less store front.  We are located on the lower level between Sears and JC Penney (we are directly across from Quizno’s).
